Resident Engineer – Civil (Overhead Transmission Line)

About the role

As a Resident Engineer – Civil for overhead transmission line (OHL) projects, you will lead the civil side of EPC contracts from initiation through close‑out, ensuring projects meet schedule, budget and quality targets. You will act as the on‑site technical authority, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, contractors and clients across Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise EPC civil works, including earthworks, tower foundations, access roads and drainage, ensuring compliance with drawings, method statements and inspection‑test plans.
• Review and approve civil drawings, shop drawings, material submittals and geotechnical reports.
• Maintain strict HSE standards and UAE/TAQA safety regulations, conducting site inspections and audits.
• Coordinate permits, NOCs and all site documentation such as RFIs and NCRs.
• Manage daily construction activities, progress reporting and regular progress review meetings.
• Verify material quantities, certify work measurements and lead the project close‑out process.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (Master’s preferred); Professional Engineer (PE) licence is a plus.
• Minimum 15 years of civil engineering experience on overhead transmission line projects.
• Proven experience with reinforced concrete foundations, geotechnical investigations, tower spotting and stringing logistics.
• Strong project management, communication and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in PLS‑CADD.
• Proficiency in PLS‑POLE.
• Advanced AutoCAD skills.
