Resident Engineer – Roads & Infrastructure

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to lead road and infrastructure works on a major UAE project. The role involves overseeing staff efficiency, ensuring compliance with contract documents, and delivering high‑quality construction outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor client programme progress and ensure compliance with contract specifications.
• Inspect workmanship and materials, approve shop drawings, and certify progress payments.
• Coordinate vertical and horizontal controls, layout checks, and soil/material testing.
• Prepare variation orders, change orders, and monthly progress reports, including safety monitoring.
• Review and approve final material submittals and manage cost assessments for variations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field; PE license preferred.
• Minimum 20 years of infrastructure engineering experience, especially large‑scale roads, bridges and underpasses.
• Proven project management experience with budget and schedule control.
• Willingness to work on‑site in the UAE and travel as required.
