Resident Engineer – Roads & Infrastructure Utilities

About the role

The Resident Engineer will lead the supervision, coordination and contract management of all road and infrastructure works in Dubai, ensuring compliance with contract documents, specifications and local authority requirements. This senior position requires strong technical leadership and commercial acumen to protect the employer’s interests.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary on‑site representative, managing the site supervision team and enforcing the Project Execution Plan.
• Oversee day‑to‑day construction activities for roads, wet and dry utilities, tunnels, MSE walls and related civil works.
• Administer the contract, review contractor notices, claims and variations, and certify interim payments.
• Monitor programme progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation measures.
• Ensure quality, safety and environmental compliance through inspections, audits and HSE plan enforcement.
• Coordinate with client, PMC, authorities and service providers to obtain approvals and manage handover documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred) with at least 15 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 7 years in a Resident Engineer or senior site supervision role on major infrastructure projects in the UAE.
• Proven experience with FIDIC (Red Book) contracts and UAE authority coordination.
• Fluent in English and Arabic, with strong report writing and contractual correspondence skills.
