Resident Engineer - Site

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Resident Engineer to join our Dubai team. As a key member of the building construction management team, you will oversee all on‑site engineering activities for large‑scale projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate on‑site engineering work, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and keep the project on schedule.
• Review and approve construction methodologies, work plans and technical submittals.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality‑control checks to verify compliance with design specifications and local building codes.
• Manage and mentor junior engineers and technical staff on‑site.
• Prepare detailed progress reports, identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with local authorities to obtain permits and approvals.
• Implement and maintain robust safety protocols and optimise construction processes for efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience as a Resident Engineer/Senior Resident Engineer on large‑scale projects (total experience ≥ 20 years).
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred; contract management and oversight skills are essential.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• In‑depth knowledge of UAE construction standards, local building codes and safety regulations.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and leadership abilities, with experience mentoring teams.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite.
