Resident Engineer - Structure

About the role

Dar, part of the Sidara group, is an international multidisciplinary consulting organization covering engineering, architecture, planning, environment, project management, facilities management and economics. It is looking for a Resident Engineer (Structure) to lead on-site supervision of contractor activities in line with approved drawings, specifications and method statements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on-site supervision of contractors according to approved drawings, specs and method statements.
• Conduct daily site inspections and issue site instructions as needed.
• Liaise with discipline engineers and inspectors to ensure coordination across trades.
• Address technical queries (RFIs) together with design office and client representatives.
• Monitor contractor progress and report deviations from the programme.
• Coordinate material submittals and shop drawing reviews with discipline teams.
• Chair or attend site meetings and maintain professional client and contractor relations.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards and escalate issues promptly.
• Maintain site documentation, NCRs, logs and reporting records.
• Mentor junior engineers and inspectors in best site supervision practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 20+ years of experience, including management of large or complex project sites.
• Experience in structural concrete is mandatory.
• Deep understanding of regional codes, contracts and construction delivery models.
• Recognized as a technical authority in site-based delivery and compliance.
• Experience in building and airport projects.
