Resident Engineer – Track Work

About the role

We are seeking a Resident Engineer to oversee track work construction and maintenance in Dubai. The role involves supervising rail welding, track installation and ensuring compliance with safety, quality and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise construction works such as rail welding and track installation, ensuring compliance with specifications, quality standards, safety and risk controls.
• Control implementation of track alignment, track and turnout installations performed by others.
• Assist QA/QC processes, conduct QC audits and site surveillance per contract.
• Support the Construction Manager with assigned tasks across areas or divisions.
• Monitor programme delivery and provide periodic progress reports to the Construction Manager.
• Lead and support contractors to achieve best practice in health, safety, welfare, security, environment and construction standards.
• Manage and mitigate emerging issues, escalating to the CM/Senior Construction Manager with recommended actions.
• Oversee selection of track materials and review implementation methods and work instructions.
• Liaise with designers, review IFR drawings and participate in design workshops.
• Provide technical guidance and supervision to the Project Management Team.
• Attend meetings with Discipline Leader, Senior Track Work Engineer and construction personnel.
• Prepare weekly and monthly site progress reports.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years experience in railway infrastructure, with at least 5 years in track work assignments.
• Proven people‑management skills and ability to build cross‑functional relationships to deliver integrated infrastructure programmes.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
• Expert knowledge of track alignment and experience in track installation.
• Comprehensive understanding of site supervision and construction management of rail projects.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Proficiency in MS Office and CAD software.
