Restaurant Manager – Chinese Cuisine

About the role

As the Restaurant Manager of Shang Palace, you will be responsible for delivering an authentic Chinese dining experience while upholding Shangri‑La’s luxury hospitality standards. You will lead the outlet’s daily operations, ensure service excellence, and drive revenue performance in a high‑end resort environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of restaurant service to guarantee smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences.
• Lead, coach and develop the restaurant team to consistently meet luxury Chinese dining standards.
• Monitor revenue, food and beverage costs, inventory and other financial targets to achieve business objectives.
• Build strong relationships with guests, handle feedback professionally and maintain high satisfaction levels.
• Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and culinary team to promote Chinese cuisine, menu offerings and beverage pairings while ensuring quality and consistency.

Required profile

• Fluent in Chinese and English with excellent verbal communication skills.
• Deep knowledge of Chinese cuisine, culture, dining etiquette and service practices.
• Strong commercial awareness, experience in revenue generation, upselling and cost control.
• Excellent organizational, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Professional appearance, cultural awareness and a genuine passion for hospitality.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, hotel management, business administration or a related field preferred.
• Training or certification in Food Safety and HACCP is advantageous.
