Riding Engineer

About the role

Etihad Airways is seeking a Riding Engineer to support line‑maintenance operations across its outstations and Abu Dhabi hub. The role ensures aircraft airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and operational reliability while maintaining full authorization coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Perform riding engineer duties in strict accordance with approved aircraft maintenance documents, company policies, and UAE GCAA regulations.
• Maintain valid licences, approvals and authorisations, notifying Resource Management of upcoming renewals at least six months in advance.
• Deliver high‑quality maintenance activities to release aircraft to service safely and on schedule.
• Apply technical judgement to resolve defects during line operations and riding duties.
• Uphold Etihad’s cabin‑interior standards and promote the use of modern tools and digital systems.
• Review industry occurrences and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
• Support the implementation of Etihad’s OGSM framework and contribute to a strong safety culture.

Required profile

• High School Certificate or equivalent; technical or engineering diploma/degree preferred.
• Valid Aircraft Maintenance Licence (GCAA/EASA Part‑66/ICAO convertible to GCAA).
• 2‑3 years certifying experience on at least two Etihad type ratings (Airbus 320/350/380, Boeing 777/787) with company authorisation.
• Minimum 5 years aircraft maintenance experience, including at least 3 years in a line‑maintenance environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of line maintenance and defect rectification.
• Clear communication, high attention to detail and regulatory awareness.
• Proactive, adaptable and able to operate independently in an international setting.
