Risk & Compliance Officer – AML/KYC Specialist

About the role

A leading international law firm is seeking a Risk & Compliance Officer to join its Dubai team. The role focuses on AML, KYC, client due diligence, risk assessment and regulatory compliance, working closely with business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct KYC, CDD/EDD, AML and sanctions screening for new and existing clients.
• Support client onboarding and ongoing client risk assessments.
• Review Source of Wealth (SOW), Source of Funds (SOF) and complex ownership structures.
• Identify and assess compliance and client‑related risks, escalating issues where appropriate.
• Support regulatory compliance monitoring, reporting, audits and policy reviews.
• Maintain accurate compliance records and ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on AML and compliance matters.

Required profile

• Relevant AML/compliance experience, preferably within the insurance sector or a regulated/legal firm.
• Strong knowledge of AML, KYC, CDD/EDD, sanctions and PEP screening.
• Experience assessing SOW/SOF, UBOs and complex corporate structures.
• Exposure to trust structures and client risk assessments is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• UAE regulatory experience, particularly CBUAE, is an advantage.
• Must be an Arabic speaker.
• Ability to work confidently with senior stakeholders and handle sensitive/confidential information.
