Room Technician (Polishing & Painting)

About the role

The Room Technician (Polishing & Painting) is responsible for responding to guest repair requests and maintaining the appearance of hotel rooms and facilities. This role combines preventive maintenance, surface preparation, painting, and minor repairs to ensure a high‑standard guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests, communicate solutions, and perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen, and mechanical equipment.
• Inspect, clean, lubricate, and maintain air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and pneumatic systems.
• Prepare surfaces, apply paint, repair minor drywall and wood trim, and conduct thorough clean‑up after each job.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair guestroom items such as lighting, A/C filters, electrical switches, outlets, and plumbing fixtures.
• Operate lockout/tagout procedures, manage maintenance inventory, and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs, including sprinkler system maintenance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting; hotel engineering experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Painting and surface preparation.
• Basic electrical repair (switches, outlets, lighting).
• Plumbing maintenance (toilet plunging, drain unclogging).
