Rooms Controller - Front Office

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Rooms Controller to join the Front Office team at Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort in Ras Al‑Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. The role oversees room inventory, occupancy, and revenue performance while ensuring the highest standards of guest satisfaction in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily room inventory, occupancy levels, and status updates across all property systems.
• Oversee front desk operations, coordinating efficient check‑in and check‑out procedures.
• Monitor and resolve room maintenance requests in collaboration with housekeeping and maintenance teams.
• Analyze room revenue and occupancy data to identify trends and optimisation opportunities.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly operational reports for management review.
• Handle guest inquiries, complaints and special requests with professionalism.
• Coordinate room assignments to maximise revenue and guest satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures and quality standards.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and enhance the overall guest experience.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in front office management or rooms operations within a hotel environment.
• Proficiency with hotel property management systems (PMS) and related software applications.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
• Comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations, procedures and guest service standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and support staff development.
