ROV Supervisor – Subsea Operations Lead

About the role

Fugro is seeking an experienced ROV Supervisor to lead remotely operated vehicle operations for subsea projects in Abu Dhabi. The role combines technical expertise, safety management, and team leadership to deliver high‑quality offshore outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise ROV operations, ensuring compliance with project goals and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to plan and execute subsea missions.
• Manage emergencies and lead the ROV team during critical situations.
• Mentor and train ROV technicians, senior pilots, and pilot technicians.
• Maintain regulatory compliance, conduct inspections and audits, and uphold quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance on ROV systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance, and work with R&D on emerging underwater robotics technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering with a focus on ROVs, USVs, or marine robotics.
• Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross‑functional and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as API, ISO, and ABS.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
