Safety Engineer

About the role

Safety Engineer based on‑site in the UAE, supporting the Safety Manager to enhance safety management, understanding and performance across the designated organisational area. The role will collaborate with global, area and unit teams to implement, maintain and continuously improve the KONE Way for Safety.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation, maintenance and improvement of the KONE safety management system, covering worker, user and third‑party safety.
• Cultivate a caring safety culture and act as a role model.
• Compile, maintain and improve safety documentation together with the unit safety team.
• Participate in the unit safety committee and other safety forums.
• Provide professional advice and support to the unit on safety matters.
• Plan, participate in and implement projects and activities to improve safety.
• Work closely with customers, partners and KONE subcontractors.
• Support development, review and exercise of crisis and emergency response plans.
• Monitor and develop safety risk management processes, tools and practices.
• Collect, measure and report leading and lagging safety data.
• Perform regular safety audits, identify risks and support audit process improvement.
• Analyse and investigate incidents and manage corrective and preventive actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• NEBOSH certification (mandatory) and additional safety certifications a plus.
• 2–5 years of experience in safety, ideally within the elevator industry.
• Trakhees approved safety Engineer.
• Fluency in English advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and people management skills.
• Proficiency in problem‑solving, incident management, auditing and analytical tasks.
