Safety Engineer (UAE Nationals Only)

About the role

KONE Middle East, Turkey & Africa is looking for a Safety Engineer to join its team in Abu Dhabi. The role supports the Safety Manager in improving safety management, understanding and performance across the assigned area, and works with global, area and unit teams to implement, maintain and continuously improve the KONE Way for Safety. The position is on-site in the UAE and is open only to UAE nationals.

Key responsibilities

• Safety policy and objectives: support the implementation, maintenance and improvement of the KONE safety management system, including worker, user and third-party safety, and act as a role model
• Maintain and improve safety documentation with the unit safety team, take part in the unit safety committee and forums, advise the unit on safety matters and plan and run safety improvement projects
• Work with customers and partners, including KONE subcontractors, and support the development, review and exercise of crisis and emergency response plans
• Safety risk management: monitor and develop risk management processes, tools and practices, and support safety-related change management projects
• Safety assurance: collect and report leading and lagging safety data, monitor the legal and business environment, perform regular safety audits, assist line management in audits and investigate incidents
• Manage corrective and preventive actions, and support the development of safety competencies in the unit

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
• NEBOSH certification is mandatory; additional safety certifications are a plus
• Three to five years of experience in safety, ideally within the elevator industry
• Trakhees-approved Safety Engineer
• Fluency in English is advantageous
