School Counselor – British Curriculum School in Dubai

About the role

LEAMS Education is seeking a qualified School Counselor to join a leading British curriculum school in Dubai. The role focuses on supporting students’ academic, personal, social, and career development through a comprehensive counselling programme.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate a school‑wide counselling and guidance programme addressing social and emotional development.
• Conduct needs assessments, use data to identify targeted areas of need, and provide appropriate interventions.
• Implement an effective referral and follow‑up process for students requiring additional support.
• Support teachers by delivering classroom guidance activities aligned with the school’s curriculum.
• Provide individual and group counselling, behavioural counselling, and educational assessments.
• Design and deliver well‑being programmes across the school.
• Represent the school’s well‑being team at orientation events, open days, career fairs and other major programmes.
• Participate in policy development, procedural manuals and contribute to interpreting school objectives for students, parents and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with leadership to implement behaviour and discipline modification plans for specific grade cohorts.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Psychology.
• Minimum two years of full‑time experience in a school setting, either as a teacher or a guidance counsellor.
• Professional integrity, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to respond effectively to a diverse student population.
