School Librarian

About the role

The Diyar Private Academy is seeking a proactive School Librarian to lead its library program. You will inspire students and staff to become critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, and ethical users of information while supporting the school’s learning objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Create an innovative, inclusive library environment that encourages creativity and research.
• Collaborate with teachers to design and deliver information literacy lessons and integrate resources into the curriculum.
• Select, acquire, evaluate, and organize information resources in all formats, ensuring equitable access.
• Guide students in developing critical thinking, research, and ethical information use skills.
• Maintain the library’s technology and digital collections, supporting both staff and student needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information and Library Studies.
• Minimum 2 years experience working as a librarian, preferably in a school setting.
• Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, teachers, and parents.
