Science Teacher – August Start

About the role

GEMS American Academy in Abu Dhabi is seeking passionate Science Teachers to join its team from August 2026. The school follows an American curriculum with the IB continuum, fostering inquiry‑based learning and global citizenship.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging High School Integrated Science lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
• Differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including English Language Learners and gifted students.
• Maintain a positive, collaborative classroom environment that promotes curiosity and well‑being.
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching approaches to enhance learning.
• Assess student progress using authentic methods and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues on unit planning and curriculum development.
• Participate in co‑curricular and community programmes to support holistic education.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a subject‑related degree with a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE/PGDE/state license or equivalent).
• Proven experience teaching High School Integrated Science, preferably within an American or IB curriculum.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
