SCS/CS Field Service Engineer Intern

About the role

This 12‑month internship with GE Vernova’s Grid Solutions division offers early‑career talent the chance to develop field technical skills while supporting substation automation projects across the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Assist GEV engineers in preparing signal lists from schematics and related documents.
• Support engineering and field service tasks for protection relays, panel modifications, protection logic diagrams, bill of materials, and purchasing requests.
• Generate and review production documents such as wiring tables, cable schedules, and inter‑panel wiring files.
• Perform CT/VT adequacy checks and relay‑setting calculations.
• Coordinate field service activities for Substation Automation Systems, including DCS/SCS, RTU, and cyber‑security components.
• Record and test digital inputs, IEC61850 IEDs, SCADA signals, and SCS functionalities.
• Install SCS systems on‑site, covering fiber‑optic layout, PC installation, console wiring, and testing.
• Track project milestones and ensure compliance with EHS requirements and PPE availability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Power, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Energy Engineering, Cybersecurity, AI, or a related field from an accredited university.
• Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus).
