About the role

GEMS International School, Al Khail is seeking an experienced Secondary Physical Education Teacher to join its dynamic team starting in August 2026. The role involves delivering inquiry‑based PE lessons within an IB framework and contributing to the broader school community.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry‑based Physical Education lessons for secondary students.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs, including EAL and gifted learners.
• Differentiate teaching strategies and integrate technology to enhance student engagement.
• Assess, record, and communicate student progress, using data to inform personalised support.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design and refine IB‑aligned curriculum, resources, and assessments.
• Participate in co‑curricular activities, school events, and community initiatives.
• Build positive relationships with parents and the wider school community.
• Engage in ongoing professional learning and uphold GEMS values and the IB Learner Profile.

Required profile

• A certified teaching qualification at degree level (e.g., B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE) in Physical Education.
• Minimum three years of solid experience teaching Secondary PE, preferably within an IB school.
• Experience with MYP and DP curricula is advantageous.
• Passion for innovative, inquiry‑based teaching and a commitment to student development.
• Willingness to grow professionally and contribute to a flagship international school.
