Secondary Physical Education Teacher

About the role

GEMS Winchester School is seeking an outstanding and passionate Physical Education Teacher to join its dedicated team. The role involves delivering the National Curriculum for England while embracing UAE national values, identity and culture.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated PE lessons for secondary students in line with the National Curriculum for England.
• Develop students' physical skills, tactical understanding, fitness, confidence and enjoyment of sport.
• Provide appropriate challenge and support for learners of varying abilities, including those with additional learning and physical needs.
• Establish high expectations for participation, behaviour, effort and achievement.
• Use a range of teaching, coaching and assessment strategies to maximise student progress.
• Promote teamwork, leadership, resilience, discipline, sportsmanship and respect.
• Create a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment.
• Assess, record and monitor student attainment and provide constructive, timely feedback.
• Contribute to curriculum review, extracurricular sports programmes and coach school teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education.
• Passion and enthusiasm for physical education and sport.
• Excellent classroom management and coaching abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to inclusion, student wellbeing and safeguarding.
