Secondary Science Teacher

About the role

The Secondary Science Teacher at Smart Vision School will deliver high‑quality, engaging and inclusive science lessons for secondary students, supporting their academic, social and emotional development. The role aligns with UK Teachers’ Standards, KHDA inspection criteria and the UAE Ministry of Education science curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging science lessons across Physics, Chemistry and Biology for all secondary year groups, aligned with UAE MoE and UK curriculum standards.
• Adapt instruction for Students of Determination, ELL learners and diverse abilities, using experiments, ICT, project‑based and inquiry‑led activities.
• Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, produce reports and maintain records of academic, social and emotional development.
• Maintain clear behaviour expectations, promote respect and inclusion, and safeguard students from abuse, bullying or discrimination.
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and teaching resources that embed UAE heritage and culture, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure cohesive provision.
• Participate in professional development, departmental meetings, school events and after‑school activities.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualification in Science (e.g., PGCE, QTS or equivalent).
• Minimum two years’ experience teaching secondary science.
• Strong knowledge of assessment, differentiation and inclusion strategies.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Understanding of safeguarding, child protection and wellbeing requirements.
• Desirable experience in UAE or international schools and familiarity with KHDA inspection standards.
