Senior Accountant / Assistant Finance Manager

About the role

A client's small events company in Dubai is looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Finance Manager to run a standalone role overseeing all financial operations of its outsourced accounting and bookkeeping firm. The ideal candidate has a background in outsourced accounting or bookkeeping.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all finance operations, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts, monitor performance against them and report on time.
• Analyse profitability by project and client, identify cost-saving opportunities and support decision-making.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with UAE regulations and ensure VAT transactions are accurately recorded.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management, conduct variance analysis and give strategic insights.
• Use Xero for accounting and financial reporting, keeping data entry and records accurate.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field; a Master's degree or professional certification (CA, CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
• 8-10 years of relevant finance experience; a background in the events or travel industry is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UAE corporate tax regulations and VAT compliance.
• Ability to work independently and manage several tasks at once.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Xero and other financial management software.
• Budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Salary: AED 8,000 - 10,000 per month.
