Senior Accountant

About the role

Harris Pye is seeking a Senior Accountant to provide project accounting support across its maritime, energy and offshore engineering projects. You will work closely with project managers and finance teams to ensure accurate financial transactions, reporting and analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Review project progress regularly, flagging deviations from budget and JES.
• Monitor actual project costs versus budgeted costs and challenge overspends.
• Conduct cost‑control reviews, manage open and accrued purchase orders, and adjust cost accruals in line with GAAP.
• Follow up on timesheet approvals, aim for zero missing entries, and prepare utilisation reports.
• Provide working‑capital data for weekly cash forecasts and prepare billing forecasts with cash‑flow updates.
• Perform month‑end financial reviews, calculate work‑in‑progress, and record accounting entries per IFRS‑15.
• Support the preparation of project forecasts, revenue recognition, cost‑to‑complete estimates and identify financial risks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project accounting and financial analysis.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS‑15 accounting standards.
• Ability to interact with operational teams, highlight risks and drive cost‑control initiatives.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on accurate month‑end close and reporting.
