Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead the accounting function for ADNOC Group in Abu Dhabi, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with internal and external standards. This role combines supervisory duties with hands‑on accounting tasks across the full spectrum of financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a team of accountants, ensuring adherence to financial standards and timely delivery of month‑end and year‑end closing reports.
• Review and reconcile control accounts, subsidiary ledgers, and general ledgers to maintain accurate balances.
• Analyse cost reports, investigate variances, and correct discrepancies.
• Implement budgetary controls, monitor expenditures, and authorize any over‑budget spending.
• Validate supplier invoices and payroll details, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and budgetary limits.
• Manage the company’s bank accounts, perform cash management, and reconcile bank statements.

Required profile

• Proven supervisory experience in an accounting environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Ability to prepare accurate month‑end and year‑end closing statements.
• Experience in budgeting, cost analysis, and variance investigation.
• Familiarity with payroll processing and supplier invoice verification.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
