Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Dubai office. The role involves managing daily accounting operations, payroll and ensuring compliance with UAE VAT regulations. You will also be responsible for expense monitoring and financial reporting to support strategic decisions. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in a family‑owned business environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily accounting records, process supplier payments, manage AP/AR and perform bank reconciliations.
• Process monthly payroll, salaries, deductions and overtime, reconciling with attendance and timesheets.
• Handle petty cash, record retail sales and cash collections, and prepare monthly and annual financial reports.
• Monitor expenses, cash flow and financial controls while ensuring UAE VAT compliance.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, suppliers, HR and senior management.
• Ensure accurate financial controls and support audit processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, preferably in a family‑owned business.
• Strong knowledge of payroll, overtime, AP/AR, petty cash, bank reconciliation and VAT.
• Experience in retail, trading, FMCG, hospitality or similar sectors is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting/ERP software.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• In‑depth understanding of UAE VAT compliance.
• Knowledge of payroll processing systems.
