Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an meticulous and analytical Senior Accountant to join our client's corporate finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing full‑scope accounting operations, managing month‑end and year‑end financial closures, maintaining balance sheet integrity, and ensuring strict compliance with IFRS standards and local statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Maintain and audit general ledger accounts, oversee bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and fixed asset schedules.
• Prepare and review VAT returns, manage UAE Corporate Tax documentation, and ensure full compliance with regional financial regulations.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors during annual audits, preparing working papers and ensuring timely audit completion.
• Monitor cash flow, assist with budgeting and forecasting, perform variance analysis, and implement robust internal financial controls.

Required profile

• Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years as a Senior Accountant within the GCC/UAE.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant discipline.
• Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CA) is highly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and expert‑level MS Excel skills.
• High attention to detail, strong problem‑solving abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
