Senior Accountant

About the role

A company in Sharjah is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join its finance team. The role covers daily accounting operations, accurate financial records, financial reporting and support of accounting standards compliance. Applicants must currently live in the UAE, and immediate joiners are preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and oversee daily accounting operations
• Prepare financial statements, financial reports and account reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial policies
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing
• Support internal and external audits by providing financial documentation
• Monitor transactions and suggest improvements to accounting procedures
• Maintain general ledger records and support financial reporting and documentation

Required profile

• Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) or Master of Commerce (M.Com)
• At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience in the UAE
• Currently based in the United Arab Emirates
• Immediate availability preferred

Required skills

• Accounting principles, financial reporting and general ledger management
• Financial statement preparation and month-end and year-end closing
• Understanding of accounting standards, financial controls and audit requirements
• Analytical, organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
