Senior Accountant – Payables

About the role

Alef Group, a leading real‑estate developer in the UAE, is looking for a bilingual Senior Accountant – Payables to manage the end‑to‑end accounts payable function for its development projects in Sharjah.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier, contractor and consultant invoices, performing three‑way matching and posting to the ERP system.
• Maintain vendor master data, reconcile AP sub‑ledger with the general ledger, and resolve vendor discrepancies.
• Coordinate project‑related payables, including interim payment certificates, retentions, advances and final settlements.
• Prepare payment batches, support cash‑flow forecasting and ensure timely payments in line with contractual terms.
• Validate UAE VAT and corporate tax treatment on invoices and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing, preparing accruals, provisions and ageing reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; ACCA, CMA or CA preferred.
• 5–7 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in UAE real‑estate or construction.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT, corporate tax and financial controls.
• Experience with high‑volume invoicing, multiple projects and vendor management.
