Senior Accountant (Payroll)

About the role

An experienced Payroll Accountant is sought to manage monthly payroll processing for multiple companies, ensure compliance with UAE Labour Law and Wages Protection System (WPS) requirements, and oversee payroll-related accounting activities. The role also involves supervising junior staff to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing for multiple companies, ensuring accuracy and timely salary disbursement.
• Verify employee attendance, overtime, leave records, deductions, allowances and other payroll information before processing salaries.
• Prepare and process payroll files in line with company policies and UAE Labour Law requirements.
• Ensure WPS compliance and coordinate with banks and relevant departments for salary transfers.
• Calculate and review end-of-service benefits, gratuity, leave salary and final settlements under UAE Labour Law.
• Handle payroll accounting, including journal entries, accruals, provisions and reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate payroll records, employee salary details and supporting documentation.
• Prepare monthly payroll reports, salary summaries, reconciliation statements and management reports.
• Coordinate with HR and other departments to resolve payroll discrepancies and support internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in payroll and accounting.
• Qualification of M.Com, CMA or CA Inter.
• Strong payroll management skills and knowledge of gratuity and leave salary calculations.
• Experience supervising junior staff.
