Senior Accountant - Trade Finance, AR & Credit Control

About the role

A leading interior solutions and building materials company in Dubai is hiring a Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate has strong experience in accounts receivable, customer invoicing, credit control, collections and trade finance, with hands-on exposure to letters of credit and banking transactions. Experience in trading, building materials, furniture, sanitary ware, retail distribution or import/export is highly preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, collections and account reconciliations
• Monitor customer aging reports and drive timely recovery of outstanding payments
• Handle customer credit limits, payment follow-ups and credit control activities
• Manage and coordinate letter of credit transactions, amendments and related documentation
• Liaise with banks, customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders on trade finance matters
• Review commercial invoices, shipping documents and other trade documentation
• Prepare customer statements, credit notes, debit notes and collection reports
• Resolve billing disputes and account discrepancies
• Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management
• Ensure accurate accounting records in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Assist with month-end closing, audits and financial reporting

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or commerce
• ACCA, CMA, CPA, CA or equivalent qualification preferred
• 5+ years of UAE accounting experience
• Experience in trading, building materials, furniture, sanitary ware, distribution or import/export businesses
• Preferred background: building materials companies, furniture distributors, sanitary ware and tiles businesses, trading and distribution companies, import/export organizations or interior solutions providers

Required skills

• Accounts receivable, credit control, collections and recovery, customer invoicing, account reconciliation and cash flow monitoring
• Hands-on experience with letters of credit and trade finance, and direct dealings with banks and commercial customers
• Mandatory experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Strong Excel, analytical and stakeholder management skills
