Senior Accounts Payable

About the role

Mal, the world’s first Sharia‑compliant neobank, is looking for a Senior Accounts Payable specialist to join its Finance team in Dubai. The role focuses on accurate, efficient and compliant processing of payables while supporting the company’s rapid growth and ethical finance mission.

Key responsibilities

• Process all accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Review, verify and reconcile invoices in line with internal controls and Sharia guidelines.
• Manage vendor relationships, address queries and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare payment runs, monitor cash‑flow and maintain documentation for audits.
• Collaborate with internal teams to optimise AP workflows and drive continuous improvement.
• Support month‑end close activities and produce detailed AP reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and assist internal/external audit requests.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience managing accounts payable, preferably in financial services or fintech.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, controls and best practices.
• Ability to handle high transaction volumes with precision.
• Commitment to ethical financial practices and alignment with Mal’s mission.
• Comfort working in a fast‑paced, multicultural and hybrid environment.

Required skills

• Experience with modern accounting software and ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel or data analysis capabilities.
• Knowledge of Sharia‑compliant finance is a plus.
