Senior Applications Engineer – Pumps & Water/Wastewater Equipment

About the role

ECOTECH is seeking a technically strong, hands‑on Senior Applications Engineer with expertise in pumps and water/wastewater equipment. The role will be the primary internal technical resource supporting the Sales and Proposal teams, handling inquiries from RFQ through equipment selection and proposal preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Review RFQs, specifications, BOQs, datasheets, P&IDs and tender documents to determine application requirements and identify missing information.
• Select and size submersible, dewatering, sewage, wastewater, centrifugal, process, sludge and rotary lobe pumps, as well as mixers, agitators, blowers and aeration equipment based on flow, head, fluid characteristics and project specs.
• Coordinate with manufacturers, suppliers and internal teams to obtain quotations, technical data, drawings and certifications, and ensure technical compliance before submission.
• Prepare and review technical proposals, datasheets, compliance statements and submittals, and support the sales team with technical queries and client meetings.
• Assist with technical handover to procurement and project teams and provide on‑site support during installation, commissioning and after‑sales service.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 4–7 years of experience in applications engineering, proposal engineering, technical sales or equipment selection for water/wastewater or industrial projects.
• Strong practical knowledge of pump types, pump curves, hydraulics, NPSH, and ability to read P&IDs, GA drawings and tender documents.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple inquiries and communicate effectively in English.
