Senior Associate Firmware Engineer (Emirati Talent)

About the role

As a Firmware Engineer at FADA, you will design, develop, integrate, and verify low‑level embedded software for satellites and RF payloads, ensuring reliable hardware control, real‑time performance, and robust operation throughout the mission lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support development, integration, and debugging of firmware for satellite and SDR payload embedded systems.
• Contribute to hardware bring‑up, low‑level software validation, and interface testing.
• Assist in preparing technical documentation, software descriptions, and test procedures.
• Participate in laboratory verification and troubleshooting to maintain reliable system performance.
• Collaborate with digital hardware, software, RF, and system engineering teams for end‑to‑end payload integration.

Required profile

• Graduates, PhD students or PhDs in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science interested in firmware engineering for the space sector.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally to partner facilities.
• Good command of English.
• Desirable Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Electronic, Telecommunications Engineering or related field.

Required skills

• Familiarity with the VIVADO toolchain.
• Embedded C/C++ programming for low‑level and real‑time applications.
• Understanding of microcontrollers, SoCs, and FPGA‑based platforms.
• Experience with digital communication protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, CAN, PCIe, and Ethernet.
• Knowledge of SDR payloads, digital signal processing chains, and embedded system architecture.
• Proficiency in Python and LabView.
• Use of laboratory instruments like oscilloscopes and bus analyzers.
