Senior Associate – Mechanical Design (MEP)

About the role

Responsible for reviewing, coordinating and optimizing mechanical system designs across Majid Al Futtaim developments. The role ensures design quality, constructability, sustainability and compliance with company standards and applicable codes, supporting projects from concept through hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Review and ensure quality, completeness and technical accuracy of mechanical designs (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, gas systems).
• Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural and other MEP disciplines to achieve seamless integration.
• Perform BIM model reviews, clash detection and coordination using Navisworks and related tools.
• Validate compliance with project briefs, Majid Al Futtaim design standards and local/international codes.
• Provide value‑engineering solutions to optimise cost, performance, efficiency and sustainability.
• Support construction through site visits, technical guidance, issue resolution and mock‑up reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2‑5 years of mechanical design experience on retail, residential, mixed‑use or large‑scale developments.
• Experience across the full project lifecycle including design review, coordination and construction support.
• Knowledge of UAE regulations and mechanical design standards; GCC/MENA experience preferred.
• Professional membership (e.g., CIBSE, ASHRAE) and sustainability certifications (LEED, BREEAM) are advantageous.
