Senior Associate – Tendering Buildings

About the role

The Senior Associate – Tendering Buildings will support Aldar’s purchasing activities by reviewing spend, rates, and contractor performance, and by implementing the strategic sourcing framework. This role ensures effective vendor management and market research to support construction projects across Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing pre‑qualification of consultants, contractors and service providers and classify them based on expertise.
• Maintain Aldar’s approved vendor list for pricing enquiries and market rate updates.
• Adopt strategic sourcing for typical products/goods required on Aldar projects (tiles, joinery, air conditioners, white goods, etc.).
• Obtain Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from shortlisted vendors for works or services.
• Manage and regularly update the construction contract vendor list, ensuring pre‑qualification.
• Conduct market research for innovative design solutions and integrate with the Department of Economy for vendor‑approved activities.
• Assist in monitoring sub‑contractor performance on construction contracts.
• Conduct periodic spend analysis by category and vendor in conjunction with the AVP – Strategic Sourcing.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience leading a procurement or sourcing function.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or contract management; formal contractual dispute resolution training preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience working with databases.
• Proficiency in estimating software.
