Senior Backend Engineer - Identity & Access Management

About the role

Andersen is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer (Identity & Access Management) for a project building a scalable distributed platform and delivering reliable backend solutions for an international customer in the financial and protection services domain. The system is developed in Go, with a focus on efficient concurrency, reliability and long-term maintainability. The role is based in Dubai, with the option to work fully remotely, from the office or in a hybrid arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate high-throughput, low-latency identity services: SSO, MFA, session management and federation.
• Own features end-to-end, from design through production and support.
• Implement and scale OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and JWTs, including secure token issuance, rotation and revocation.
• Write clean, concurrent, performant backend services in Go, with idiomatic, testable code and clear gRPC/HTTP API contracts.
• Use DevOps experience to deploy, manage and automate identity infrastructure (CI/CD, monitoring, incident response).
• Serve as subject matter expert on authentication and identity, covering security reviews, threat modelling and secure integrations.
• Maintain integrations with custom and standard identity providers (e.g. Keycloak and AWS Cognito) and federation patterns.
• Mentor engineers, run design reviews and contribute to the team's technical roadmap and security posture.

Required profile

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience, including 5+ years with Go.
• Production experience with IAM and with Go and gRPC in complex distributed systems.
• Deep expertise in authentication and authorization, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SSO, MFA, RBAC, JWT signing/verification, token security, session management and cryptography.
• Strong understanding of web security, federated identity, secure coding and OWASP Top 10.
• Ability to explain security and architecture trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• English at upper-intermediate level or above.
