Senior Business Developer – Renewables & Batteries

About the role

ENGIE Middle East is looking for a Senior Business Developer to drive new growth opportunities in renewable energy and battery storage across the GCC region. The role will manage the full lifecycle of projects, from market identification to financial close, supporting the company’s energy transition strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and originate renewable and low‑carbon opportunities, including solar PV, wind and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
• Lead end‑to‑end bid and proposal processes, coordinating cross‑functional teams and ensuring high‑quality, competitive submissions.
• Conduct market assessments covering regulation, tariffs, PPA structures, grid access and incentives.
• Drive project development from early screening through feasibility studies, permitting, stakeholder mapping and financial close.
• Negotiate commercial terms with offtakers, partners and public entities, and contribute to financial modelling and risk assessment.
• Build strategic partnerships with developers, utilities, equipment suppliers and investors, and represent ENGIE in high‑level negotiations and industry forums.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Finance, Economics or Business (MBA or Master’s in Energy/Finance is a plus).
• 8–12+ years of experience in energy, renewables, power generation or infrastructure development.
• Proven track record of developing and closing large‑scale renewable or infrastructure projects, with experience in IPP models and project finance.
• Strong negotiation, stakeholder management and leadership capabilities in multicultural, matrix environments.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of renewable energy technologies (solar PV, wind, BESS).
• Expertise in project finance modelling and commercial structuring.
