Senior Civil Engineer – Bridges

About the role

The Senior Civil Engineer – Bridges will lead structural inspections, assessments and repair planning for bridge and marine infrastructure in Dubai. The role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, contractors and authorities to ensure safe and compliant bridge operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed inspections of steel bridge elements, concrete structures, and associated components, identifying defects such as corrosion, cracking, and water leakage.
• Prepare inspection reports, condition assessments, and repair recommendations, and develop repair methodologies for steel, reinforced concrete and marine structures.
• Coordinate corrective and planned maintenance work orders from initiation through execution, monitoring progress against programme schedules.
• Supervise repair works, review welding procedures, verify fabrication and erection quality, and manage non‑destructive testing activities.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams, and support emergency inspections when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of structural engineering experience, including at least 4 years on bridge, marine or heavy steel projects.
• At least 5 years of experience working in the UAE, preferably on RTA or bridge maintenance projects.
• Professional engineering certification or chartered status is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with structural‑analysis software.
• Knowledge of Maximo or similar computerized maintenance‑management systems.
• Experience with non‑destructive testing methods such as ultrasonic, magnetic particle and dye penetrant testing.
