Senior Civil Engineer

About the role

Consertus is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to support the Resident Engineer in supervising on‑site construction activities, ensuring quality assurance and control from start to completion. The role involves coordinating with contractors, reviewing schedules, and maintaining health and safety standards on a complex capital project.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise site civil engineers according to the Laceco Supervision Manual and ensure adherence to guidelines.
• Recommend and approve sub‑contractors in coordination with owner/client representatives.
• Identify contract discrepancies, assist in resolving contractor issues, and advise on time extensions or change orders.
• Review contractor construction schedules, shop drawing submittal logs, procurement and material submittal logs before Resident Engineer approval.
• Inspect delivered construction materials for compliance with ministerial requirements and ensure proper storage.
• Prepare weekly and monthly construction progress reports and maintain onsite quality control.
• Contribute to health and safety management, reporting violations to the Resident Engineer or Safety Inspector.
• Attend progress and coordination meetings with clients and approve as‑built drawings after construction completion.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 10–12 years of experience, including 4+ years in a similar senior role.
• Certification or membership with the Society of Engineers.
• Previous experience with a consultancy or contracting firm.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, architectural finishes, materials and local building standards.
• Excellent coordination, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
