Senior Clinical Social Worker

About the role

A leading healthcare organization in Dubai is seeking an experienced Senior Clinical Social Worker to provide professional psychosocial support to patients and their families. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to assess psychosocial needs, provide counseling and support, and help patients and families navigate complex healthcare situations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments of patients and families, identifying social, emotional, financial and environmental factors affecting care.
• Develop and implement psychosocial intervention plans and provide individual and family counseling and emotional support.
• Support patients and families dealing with serious or complex medical conditions, including coping, adjustment and decision-making.
• Provide referrals to community, social and healthcare resources and advocate for patients' needs.
• Work with physicians, nurses and other team members, taking part in case discussions and care planning.
• Maintain accurate, confidential and timely social-work documentation and assist with discharge planning and continuity of care.
• Support crisis intervention when required and take part in education, quality improvement, research and clinical governance activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Social Work or a related recognized discipline.
• Professional registration/licensing where applicable; candidates must meet DHA professional registration requirements where applicable to the role.
• Significant clinical social work experience in a hospital or healthcare setting, including senior-level psychosocial assessment and intervention.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and managing confidential patient information professionally.
• Preferred: experience in hospital social work, medical and surgical services, critical care, oncology, transplantation, organ and tissue donation, palliative care, family counseling, crisis intervention and discharge planning.
