Senior Commissioning Engineer – Telecom (Offshore, WHT, Subsea & Piping)

About the role

Penspen is urgently hiring a Senior Commissioning Engineer (Telecom) for offshore Wellhead Towers, subsea and piping brownfield projects in Abu Dhabi. The role leads and executes telecommunications commissioning activities for offshore oil & gas facilities, ensuring safe, efficient hand‑over of all telecom systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute telecom commissioning for offshore platforms, Wellhead Towers (WHTs), subsea cable and pipeline developments, and brownfield modifications.
• Ensure telecom systems are installed, tested, integrated, commissioned and handed over in compliance with specifications, international standards and project schedules.
• Act as the focal point between engineering, construction, vendors, commissioning teams, operations and clients for all telecom‑related activities.
• Develop commissioning strategies, procedures and execution plans; prepare Commissioning Execution Plans (CEP) and related dossiers.
• Commission offshore telephone, IP telephony, intercom, PABX, data & network, radio communication, safety & security systems.
• Support subsea fiber‑optic communication system commissioning and verify interfaces between offshore facilities and onshore control centres.
• Plan and execute telecom cut‑over and migration activities, minimizing operational disruption during brownfield modifications.

Required profile

• Minimum 15+ years of experience, with at least 5 years in offshore projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical & Communication Engineering from an accredited university.
• Proven experience commissioning telecom systems on offshore platforms, WHTs, jackets, topsides and brownfield facilities.
• Preferred background in PMC/EPC; previous ADNOC offshore experience is an advantage.
