Senior Compliance Assurance Specialist

About the role

The Senior Compliance Assurance Specialist will join the Risk & Compliance Department and report to the Director of Risk & Compliance / MLRO. The role is responsible for executing the company’s Compliance Assurance Programme and providing independent second‑line oversight of AML/CFT, sanctions, fraud prevention, consumer protection and market conduct frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the annual Compliance Assurance and Monitoring plan across all business units.
• Conduct independent compliance reviews, control testing, thematic deep‑dives and quality‑assurance activities.
• Evaluate policies, procedures, systems and controls against UAE regulatory requirements and internal standards.
• Document findings, root‑cause analyses and remediation recommendations, and prepare assurance reports for senior management and governance committees.
• Track remediation actions and independently validate closure of identified gaps.
• Perform customer‑outcome and fair‑treatment assessments, including vulnerable‑customer considerations.
• Carry out financial‑crime assurance reviews covering AML/CFT, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, CDD/EDD and SAR reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum six years of experience in compliance, risk or financial‑crime assurance.
• Proven experience with AML/CFT, sanctions, fraud prevention, consumer protection and market conduct monitoring.
• Strong analytical and root‑cause analysis skills with a track record of delivering remediation plans.
• Ability to produce clear, concise reports for senior leadership and governance bodies.
