Senior Construction Superintendent – Civil (PMC)

About the role

Wood is recruiting three Senior Construction Superintendents – Civil to lead civil works on a major project in Abu Dhabi. The role provides field leadership, ensuring safe, efficient execution of civil construction in line with specifications, quality standards and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all civil construction activities on site, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Ensure works comply with project specifications, approved drawings, procedures, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture and enforce HSEQ requirements.
• Monitor contractor performance, progress and productivity to meet project milestones.
• Coordinate earthworks, excavation, foundations, concrete structures, underground utilities, roads, drainage and paving works.
• Review and approve work packs, method statements, risk assessments and lifting plans for civil activities.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to verify quality, productivity and safety compliance.
• Support construction planning, scheduling, progress measurement and forecasting.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering in Civil.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, energy or industrial projects, with at least 5 years in a similar senior superintendent role.
• Extensive experience supervising major civil works such as earthworks, excavation, reinforced concrete, foundations, roads and drainage.
• Strong knowledge of international civil engineering codes, standards and best practices.
• Proven ability to manage EPC contractors, subcontractors and large site teams.
• Demonstrated commitment to HSE excellence and safe construction practices.
