Senior Construction Supervisor (Instrumentation)

About the role

KBR is seeking a Senior Construction Supervisor (Instrumentation) to lead instrumentation activities on large‑scale EPC projects in Abu Dhabi. The role oversees installation, testing, calibration and pre‑commissioning of instrumentation systems for oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical and LNG facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all instrumentation construction and installation work, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications and project standards.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, piping, civil and commissioning teams to maintain schedule integrity.
• Oversee installation of pressure, temperature, flow, level instruments, control valves, field junction boxes, analyzer and fire‑gas systems.
• Manage routing of tubing, impulse lines, cable laying, glanding and continuity testing.
• Lead calibration, functional testing, loop‑checking and support pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Enforce HSE policies, conduct toolbox talks, safety audits and intervene on unsafe conditions.
• Ensure quality compliance through inspections, NCR tracking and proper documentation.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports and maintain as‑built records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering or related field.
• 10‑15 years of instrumentation construction experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery or LNG projects.
• 5+ years in a senior supervisory or lead instrumentation role on mega EPC projects.
• Experience with projects for major operators such as ADNOC, Saudi Aramco, Shell, BP, etc.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of ISA and IEC standards, NEC/NFPA requirements, ATEX/IECEx hazardous area rules.
• Proficiency with control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA) and fire‑gas detection systems.
• Instrument calibration procedures and analyzer system expertise.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, instrument loop drawings, wiring diagrams and cause‑effect charts.
• Competence with MS Office and construction/project management software.
