Senior Consultant – Fire & Life Safety

About the role

WSP in the Middle East is looking for a Senior Consultant – Fire & Life Safety to provide consultancy services on complex, large‑scale projects across the UAE. You will develop fire and life safety strategies, conduct technical reviews and liaise with clients, authorities and project stakeholders to ensure compliance with local and international codes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical input on fire detection, alarm, water‑based suppression, clean‑agent, smoke control and passive fire protection systems.
• Prepare design submissions, calculations and fire‑life‑safety strategy reports in coordination with senior engineers.
• Support verification that designs and installations meet Saudi, UAE and international fire codes, and assist with audits, site inspections and compliance reviews.
• Conduct fire risk assessments, hazard analyses and contribute to mitigation strategies for high‑profile projects.
• Assist with testing, commissioning and integration of fire and life safety systems.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, clients and government authorities to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Mentor junior consultants and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
• Contribute to bid proposals, attend client meetings and represent WSP at industry events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering or a related discipline.
• 08‑12 years of experience in fire‑life‑safety consulting.
• Strong knowledge of UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, SBC, IBC, NFPA, BS and other relevant standards.
• Professional licensure or certifications (PE, CEng, CFPS) highly desirable.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities.
