Senior Consultant – Fire & Life Safety

About the role

WSP in the Middle East is looking for a Senior Consultant – Fire & Life Safety to provide consultancy services for complex, large‑scale projects across the UAE. You will develop fire and life safety strategies, conduct technical reviews and ensure compliance with local and international codes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical input on fire detection, alarm, water‑based suppression, clean‑agent, smoke control and passive fire protection systems.
• Prepare design submissions, calculations and fire & life safety strategy reports in coordination with senior engineers.
• Support verification of designs against Saudi, UAE and international codes, conduct audits, site inspections and compliance reviews.
• Assist with fire risk assessments, hazard analyses and mitigation strategy development.
• Participate in testing, commissioning and stakeholder coordination with architects, contractors and authorities.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to business development and thought leadership activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related discipline.
• 8‑12 years of fire life safety engineering consulting experience.
• Knowledge of UAE, SBC, IBC, NFPA, BS and other relevant codes.
• Pursuing professional licensure (PE, CEng, CFPS) is highly desirable.
