Senior Counselor

About the role

The Senior Counselor provides professional counseling, guidance, and student support services to promote academic success, personal wellbeing, and overall development. Working closely with academic and support teams, the role handles complex student cases, delivers wellbeing workshops, and ensures appropriate intervention and referral.

Key responsibilities

• Provide confidential individual and group counseling on personal, emotional, social, behavioral, and academic concerns.
• Assess student needs, deliver interventions, and refer to external specialists when required.
• Manage complex or sensitive cases in line with institutional policies and professional standards.
• Develop and deliver workshops on mental wellbeing, stress management, resilience, study skills, and personal development.
• Collaborate with faculty, Student Services, and Academic Services to identify and support students needing additional assistance.
• Maintain accurate, confidential counseling records, case notes, and referrals, and monitor student progress.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5–7 years of relevant counseling or student wellbeing experience, preferably in a university or college setting.
• Experience managing complex student cases and delivering wellbeing workshops.
