Senior Cybersecurity OT Engineer – Substation Automation

About the role

The Senior Cybersecurity OT Engineer will lead the commissioning of Substation Automation Systems for medium‑complexity projects. You will ensure that all activities are performed safely, cost‑effectively, and in line with contract specifications, quality standards, and Hitachi Energy’s professional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the commissioning function at project and design review meetings.
• Develop, implement, and manage the project commissioning philosophy and related design changes.
• Produce as‑built documentation and support continuous improvement through lessons‑learned feedback.
• Assist Project Managers with claims, scope changes, cost and time impacts, and risk quantifications.
• Create and manage work plans, conduct real‑time risk and opportunity assessments, and report issues early.
• Act as Hitachi Energy’s lead for commissioning activities, interfacing with customers and external providers.
• Coordinate site activities for customer acceptance certification and manage external contractors.
• Coach and develop colleagues, build a network of engineering contacts, and create standard processes and tools.
• Prepare project documentation for Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and obtain utility approvals.

Required profile

• Senior‑level cybersecurity specialist with proven experience in Substation Automation Systems testing and commissioning.
• Strong understanding of OT environments, safety regulations, and contract compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to manage small commissioning teams and lead complex projects.
• Excellent analytical skills for risk assessment and claim support.
