Senior Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to own end‑to‑end data delivery in Abu Dhabi. You will define target‑state architecture, model enterprise data, engineer reliable pipelines and turn complex datasets into trusted, decision‑ready insight for our GenAI‑driven analytics platform.

Key responsibilities

• Own the complete data lifecycle – requirements, sourcing, architecture, modeling, pipeline engineering, quality and delivery of analytics‑ready data.
• Design and implement lake, warehouse and lakehouse architectures spanning ingestion, storage, processing and serving layers.
• Develop and maintain scalable batch and real‑time streaming pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks and related services.
• Build orchestration, scheduling and automated data‑load frameworks with robust logging, alerting and monitoring.
• Implement data quality checks, validation rules and observability across the delivery pipeline.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture and data analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Proven delivery of enterprise‑scale data platforms on Microsoft Azure.

Required skills

• Microsoft Azure data stack (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks/Synapse, ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL).
• Data integration workflow orchestration and ETL/ELT design.
• Data‑cleansing automation and distributed processing.
• Data warehousing, data lake/lakehouse architecture.
• Advanced data querying and manipulation (SQL, analytical functions, performance tuning).
• Statistical methods and data visualization.
• Data modeling (star and snowflake schemas) and data‑model lifecycle management.
