Senior Data Scientist II – Personalization

About the role

Careem is expanding its AI‑driven capabilities and is looking for a Senior Data Scientist II to lead hyper‑personalization across its app portfolio, including Food, Quik, and Shops. You will design and implement advanced recommendation and search layers that tailor the user experience in real time.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy transformer‑based models and graph‑based retrieval systems for personalized content.
• Engineer pipelines for large‑scale data transformation, cleaning, and feature extraction from both structured and unstructured sources.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and analytics teams to integrate personalization features into the Careem ecosystem.
• Monitor model performance, conduct A/B testing, and iterate to improve relevance and engagement metrics.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) in a quantitative discipline such as Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
• 6‑8 years of professional experience in data science, including 2‑4 years focused on personalization, recommendation, or search systems.
• Proven track record of delivering machine‑learning solutions at scale in a product‑driven environment.
